Young Boy’s Heartwarming Gesture Touches Police Officer’s Heart
Noah’s Dream to Become a Police Officer
9-year-old Noah was having breakfast with his mother at Denny’s when he noticed a lone police officer sitting nearby. Overwhelmed with nerves, Noah felt compelled to do something but wasn’t sure what. He confided in his mother about the officer and began devising a plan.

Noah had always dreamed of becoming a police officer when he grew up, so he asked his mother for permission to approach Officer Eddie Benitez and say hello. Although his mother agreed, Noah found himself too nervous to utter a word when he got close to Eddie. Undeterred, he formulated a new plan that would catch the officer off guard a few minutes later.

Noah had saved some of his birthday money and decided he wanted to pay for Eddie’s breakfast. Amanda, Noah’s mother, flagged down the waitress and shared their plan. Once they settled Eddie’s bill, Noah carefully wrote a message on the receipt. Armed with the note, he approached the policeman.

Eddie, initially perplexed as to why Noah had his receipt, quickly realized the boy’s intentions. Reading the heartfelt words Noah had written, Eddie was overcome with emotion. He sprang out of his seat and happily posed for a photo with his young admirer.

Noah’s note read:

“I want to be you when I grow up. Thank you for your service, Noah.”

Touched by the gesture, Eddie carries the note that Noah wrote him every day as a reminder of the impact he can have on others. In an interview with 10 News, Eddie expressed his gratitude:

“It meant everything. It meant that I’m supposed to wake up every morning and put on his uniform and go out there and do what I do. You know? It means that I need to keep trying to be a good example to all these young guys.”

The Lakeland Police Department, where Eddie serves, found the story heartwarming and decided to share the photo of Noah and Eddie on their Facebook page.

Noah was thrilled by the overwhelming response his kind act received, and it has only fueled his desire to become a police officer. The young boy’s gesture serves as a heartwarming tribute to the dedication and service of our police force.
