It’s almost always an excellent plan to go camping. But out in the wild, a lot of things may go wrong. Here is a compilation of our worst camping experiences.
Some of these occurrences are totally not your fault, while others are clearly Mother Nature’s doing. We have no doubt that you will find good humor in them for whatever purpose you may have.
Playing in the Mud
Someone clearly had too much fun while out in the woods for the rest of us to handle. How did he acquire so many cactus stuck to himself? Whether or if he did it on purpose is unclear.

Someone needs to inform this guy that he’s doing camping all wrong. It’s not the proper method to set up a bed, but it’s a clever alternative if you forgot your tent at home.

A sleeping bag isn’t even something this man has. This is obviously not a comfy bed, and neither is the alternative. Don’t let the bedbugs bite… too much… while you sleep soundly!
It’d be fun to go camping on the beach, right? We didn’t say to go on the beach, but rather to go “by” the beach. Or, more accurately, they drove their trailer right into the water.
RVing Along the Coast
We can only hope they came to terms with their actions before it was too late. We believe they were only attempting to park their trailer when they made the unfortunate decision to reverse. The metal components of the trailer may need a dose of sea salt and some air time.
Boxcar Cookout
Lost your barbecue and have no idea where it is? Not a problem. Your best bet is to utilize a neighbor’s mailbox. We are, of course, joking. Similar to the theft of someone’s mail, this is considered a federal felony.
Honestly, we’re sure there are better methods to prepare meals outdoors, but this is certainly out-of-the-box thinking (get the pun?). What, they haven’t heard of a campfire before? Get some twigs going, hang some pots on a wire over the fire, and you’re good to go. Quite elementary, no?
Whoopsy
Among the many fun things to do when camping in the wilderness are water sports like rafting, canoeing, and kayaking. Until something terrible occurred, these girls seemed to be enjoying the time of their lives.
For a moment, she must have been suspended in space somewhere between Earth and Heaven due to a powerful current or perhaps a sudden wave. Any reasonable person would have a heart attack if they saw this. We certainly hope that none of her parents saw it.
A Grill That Fits In A WC
I don’t understand how they managed to get this outhouse to their campground. I find it oddly ingenious. You’re probably aware of Bear Grylls’s maxim, “Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.”
