As a talented athlete, Landon’s dreams were briefly derailed by a college injury, leading him to make the bold move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in showbiz. Landon’s personal life was marked by three marriages and nine children. His first wife, Dodie Levy-Fraser, gave him two sons, Mark and John, through adoption. With his second wife, Lynn Noe, Landon became a father to four children – Leslie, Michael Jr., Christopher, and Shawna. He also adopted Noe’s daughter, Cheryl, from her previous relationship.
His third and final marriage to Cindy Clerico raised eyebrows due to their significant age difference, but Landon vehemently denied any infidelity, emphasizing that deep-seated differences led to the end of his second marriage.

His son, director Christopher Landon, shared poignant insights into his father’s final days, where roles seemed to reverse as Christopher took on a paternal role. In recent years, Christopher has paid tribute to his late father on social media, despite facing his own health challenges, particularly a kidney cancer diagnosis in 2021. Thankfully, his illness was caught in its early stages, and he underwent successful surgery.
