When you think about all of the different movies that you’ve seen, there are probably some that really stand out in your mind. There may even be movies that you haven’t seen, yet the actors still have an impact on you in some way or another.

Paul Hogan is one of those actors. He is known for the role of Mick Dundee that he played in Crocodile Dundee, but he is more than just the character, he is the embodiment of what they represent.

More than likely, you remember some of the famous scenes from the movie. If you haven’t seen them on the silver screen, you’ve likely seen them on YouTube.

When many of us think about Paul Hogan, however, we think about him as a young man who played the role of Crocodile Dundee. Unfortunately, time continues to march on and Hogan is now struggling with his health.

At 83 years old, Hogan has been discussing some health concerns that have really impacted his ability to live life comfortably. One of them is a type of fibrosis, which is a growth on his aorta and pushed on his kidney.

He was able to get some treatment with steroids to deal with the problem, but he said that it has caused his body to deteriorate. His muscles continued to get thinner and he lost his body fat.

Even though the treatment fixed the problem, he said that the muscles in his body shrunk and he has been left feeble. He admits that there were some improvements, and he’s working to regain his body fat and muscle but he is past the physique he had in his younger life.

It has gotten to the point where his son has to open jars for him and he admits that he is ‘held together by string.’ He went on to say: “Turning 80 is not for sissies because things start to fall apart.”

Some people regret the things that they did in their younger life but Hogan looks back on his life with contentment. Although he says he’s not in a place he was meant to be, he isn’t allowed to complain about everything because he has had a gifted life.

He said: “I’ve had so many wonderful things happen to me without deserving them so I shouldn’t complain but, yeah, ideally I’d rather be back in Sydney because I miss the rest of my family there.”

We hope he is able to get beyond this health crisis and we wish him many more years of happiness.
