Millions of women have entered the workforce throughout the past century. Strict gender roles are obsolete in the modern world. Far more fairly distributed obligations are between husbands and wives.
But of course, there are some women even in his generation who are adamant on maintaining certain gender roles and upholding them as best as they can.
25-year-old Connor, who is 23 years old, is married to Estee Williams. Estee has drawn criticism online for her job as a “tradwife.” She prefers to take care of all household duties as a typical wife (or housewife). She gladly performs her gender responsibilities as a wife.
Estee was studying meteorology when she met her now-husband in 2020. The Virginia couple quickly fell in love and found out they had a lot in common with one another. Her husband has a fulltime job as an electrician. And Estee shared that she does not like him to come home and do any tasks. She only rarely expects him to pitch in.
She does more than just cook and clean for him. She does not go to the gym alone, though, and she lets him plan her day. Apart for groceries, she never makes any purchases without his permission. Also, she makes an effort to get her hair and cosmetics done before he gets home.
The couple do not have children yet but when they do they expect things will remain the same as Estee will stay home and manage the house and children. They also plan on home-schooling their children so they can control what they are “consuming academically.”
Estee witnessed her mother’s struggles following her divorce as she grew up in a dysfunctional family. The 25-year-old doesn’t think women can achieve equality in all spheres. She appreciates not having to worry about job or paying bills, despite some social media users calling her “lazy” for not contributing monetarily.
