Due to her drastic decline in income, Melanie Brown, a former Spice Girl, petitioned the court in 2020 for higher child support payments.

Eddie Murphy was consequently mandated to pay Brown, who gave birth to their 15-year-old daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown, a higher monthly payment of $61,000. Thirteen years ago, the celebrity couple gave birth to their daughter.

Due to a decline in her income, Melanie Brown was forced to file a lawsuit against her former husband, Eddie Murphy, to ask for an increase in child support payments.

Her attorneys claimed in court documents that while she was able to give their daughter Angel a good life up until recently, she is now in need of more money.

Revisions were required to the $44,000 initial monthly payment.

Eddie Murphy, who is renowned for earning a lot of money, agreed to increase his support for his daughter Angel’s living expenses beginning in October and continuing until she turns 18.

He also gave the go-ahead to pay for Melanic Brown, Angel’s mother, to pay her legal expenses when the agreement was made in August.

Eddie had not recently been involved in Angel’s life; when Brown became pregnant in 2006, Eddie declined to be the father.

But shortly after, a paternity test verified her account and proved his paternity.

In the year after his divorce from Nicole Mitchell, Eddie Murphy and Melanie Brown had a brief relationship.

In her 2018 autobiography, Brutally Honest, Brown discussed the couple’s divorce, which led to the birth of their daughter Angel.

Brown claimed that Murphy was the love of her life until she unexpectedly broke up with him after she had been away from him for a few days to discuss buying a house.

Brown still views him as one of her greatest loves despite the fact that their breakup broke her heart.

For the duration of her pregnancy, Brown had distanced herself from Murphy and traveled back to Leeds, where she was born, to see her mother, Andrea.

Murphy had publicly denied being the father of the unborn child while she was away, it was revealed. Brown was terrified and embarrassed by this, and the situation was made worse by Eddie’s dismissive response to her request for a break.

She was determined to make their relationship work after leaving for Los Angeles, despite the earlier setback.

When Brown abruptly ended their conversation, Murphy claimed she was surprised. She and Eddie had a close relationship, so she had to deal with the pain of his passing.

Angel now relies on Murphy and his mother Lillian for survival. Since Angel splits weekends between seeing Eddie and spending time with her, it’s hilarious that Lillian now has fond memories of her.

Brown enjoys watching Angel interact with the individual who remarkably resembles Eddie. Additionally, ever since her contentious split from Stephen Belafonte in 2017, she has struggled financially.

The book’s author, Liz Brown, has experienced a remarkable financial journey over the course of her adult life. In the previous two decades, she has earned more than £80 million ($158 million).

She married Stephen with a home, an apartment, and a lucrative job already in place.
