A new horror movie has left viewers so scared they’re ‘crying’ and having ‘panic attacks.’
Oscar-winning actor Nicholas Cage stars in a terrifying new film that’s received a huge reaction from fans and critics.
As well as being lauded for its frightening scenes, it’s also been described as ‘high art.’
People are taking to social media and reacting to the movie after watching it at the cinema.
One viewer says: “A film that gets under your skin and may never get out.”
Another writes: “The best horror movie in years. Go in knowing nothing.”
Somebody else adds: “A masterpiece; an unholy, horrifying confluence of high art and anxiety, a film in which every frame is a nightmare, and it’s beautiful.”
A fourth person pens: “There is an overwhelming sense of unease and dread that just overtakes the entire film. it is not what I was expecting and I love what it was we ended up getting.”

The film has clearly been a hit with critics too.

The film that’s got everyone talking was directed by Oz Perkins, who also directed horrors Gretel and Hansel and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House.
Horror actress Maika Monroe, known for her breakout performance in It Follows, stars alongside Cage in the new movie.
Its description reads: “A newly minted FBI Agent (Maika Monroe) winds up becoming embroiled in the pursuit of a serial killer named Longlegs, with ties to the occult.”
While it’s safe to say that this does not give much away to the plot of the film, fans are loving going in not knowing what to expect.
Perkins has gone in an interesting direction to build up anticipation for the movie.
Cryptic codes were discovered in The Seattle Times, leading intrigued fans to a webpage full of clues, according to IndieWire.
Another interesting aspect of the movie is the director’s choice of music – the soundtrack is made up of glam rock, showcasing music from the English rock band, T-Rex, in particular.
In an interview with Dread Central, Monroe shared that Perkins: “Made a playlist prior to filming, which had a lot of T-Rex on it, and older rock music.”
Longlegs currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 68% and 7.7/10 on IMDb.
