The actress and comedian Erica Ash has died after a long battle with cancer. She was 46 years old.

Erica’s career included a number of sketch comedy shows. Later, she was the star of the Starz sitcom Survivor’s Remorse.

On TV, Erica was on MADtv’s “The Big Gay Sketch Show,” “In Contempt,” and “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” a reality show parody on BET.

She has also been in movies like Outlaw Johnny Black, Scary Movie V, and We Have a Ghost.

After a long battle with cancer, Erica’s family confirmed that she had died.

In a statement, her family said, “Erica was an amazing woman and a talented performer who touched many lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine zest for life.”

“She will always be remembered in our hearts.”

In a Monday social media post, 53-year-old TV host and Reality star Loni Love also confirmed Erica’s death.

“Sad to confirm my friend and fellow actress Erica Ashe’s passing,” Loni wrote.

“Erica was smart and funny. Whether she was working on Survivor’s Remorse or MadTV, she gave it her all.

She used to be there all the time, but now she’s gone. I’m truly sorry for her family’s loss.

In a tribute to Erica on Instagram, BET also shared the news.

“We send our deepest condolences and love to her parents, siblings, friends, and family,” it said.

“Fly high Queen.”

SHARING TRIBUTES

People who knew the late actress and famous people have been posting tributes to her on social media.

“Rest Well Pretty Girl [dove] [heart] @theericaash,” Niecy Nash, 54, wrote on Instagram next to a picture of herself and Erica when she died.

“The last text message you sent me said, “I’m gonna make you my #wcw.” Then we had a good laugh. Your presence will be missed! We really enjoyed your jokes. She also said, “Sending my deepest condolences to your family and loved ones.”

The host of the YouTube talk show Pedis & Mimosas, Shannon Mack, also gave Erica a picture from when she was on the show.

“Getting the phone call at 8:30 this morning to tell me that @theericaash had died was not the news I wanted to hear. That woman was only 46 years old!” Shannon composed.

Erica was really nice, funny, and had a good heart. That was followed by, “I can’t believe she’s not with us anymore.”

“I’m grateful for the chance to have her on my platform! She dropped some really cool stuff, and I can’t wait for you all to see it.

Shannon also said Erica would be a guest on the first episode of the new season.

Tobias Truvillion, Erica’s co-star in “In Contempt,” sent her a lot of photos and videos from on and off-screen.

“Righteous spirit. A flood of creativity. Please send her family some good vibes. “Erica made my life better,” Tobias informed.

The bar she set for herself and everyone else was very high. Dear Erica, we love you. We appreciate you being such a masterpiece. Tell her I love her.

NEVER FORGETTEN

Erica went to see artist J. Christopher’s “Beauty Amongst Thorns” at a pop-up show in Los Angeles, California, two weeks ago.

In early July, she was also at the wedding of actress Skye Marshall and actor Edwin Hodge, along with Kathy Bates, Sophia Bush, and Gina Rodriguez.

Erica wore a lace bodysuit and a gold blazer to her last red carpet event, the Golden Globes Foundation Dinner at the end of January.

At about the same time, the woman from Florida last updated her Instagram account.

On Monday, fans read the social media post and left comments in which they shared their condolences.

Someone wrote, “This makes me so very sad.”

“RIP, lovely and skilled actress. A second person said, “Gone too soon!”

Oh, we love you! Someone else said, “Thank you for giving us your gifts.”
