After hearing that her mother, Janelle Ann, had died at the age of 84, Nicole Kidman left the Venice Film Festival.

The famous actress who won the Best Actress award for her role in Babygirl went to the famous festival.

Nicole’s award was accepted by Babygirl director Halina Reijin, who then told the crowd why the 57-year-old star of The Perfect Couple left so quickly.

Nicole wrote, “Today, I arrived in Venice and soon learned that my beautiful and brave mother Janelle had just died.” Halina read this from Nicole’s statement.

People in the room gasped when they heard the bad news.

Reading what Nicole had said about her mother, she went on, “I’m shocked, and I need to go see my family. But this award is for her.”

“She showed me the way, shaped me, and made me.”

“I’m beyond grateful I get to say her name to all of you through Halina.”

“The collision of life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is broken,” she added.

After her speech, Halina said, “We love you, Nicole.”

Someone who works for Nicole told People, “The family is heartbroken and asks for privacy at this time.”

VERY HARD TO STAND

People who liked Nicole sent X a lot of condolences for the Big Little Lies star.

It’s heartbreaking news. The mother of Nicole Kidman will be missed a lot. Feeling sorry for your loss,” one person wrote.

It was said again, “That’s really heartbreaking!”

“Stay strong, Nicole!” As someone shared, a third said, “Beautiful speech.”

“The death of a mother is very painful; it shakes you to your core,” said a fifth person.

Nicole talked about how great her mother was in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2020.

“She’s driven me to do what I do for a living because I’ve always wanted to please her,” the Eyes Wide Shut star said at the time.

Her daughters wanted to be able to do the same thing she did, so she carved out her own path.

“Mum didn’t necessarily get the career that she wanted, but she was determined that her daughters would have opportunities that were equal.”

“That saved my life.” “She and my dad gave me my life,” she said in the end.
