Tito was a key member of the Jackson 5, a pop group whose music is still enjoyed today. According to Steve Manning, a longtime friend and former manager of the Jackson family, Tito passed away while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma.

The official cause of death hasn’t been announced yet, but Steve Manning believes Tito had a heart attack while driving. Tito’s sons—TJ, Taryll, and Taj Jackson—are deeply grieving their father. They shared a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram.

They wrote, “We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as ‘Coach Tito,’ and some as ‘Poppa T.’ Regardless, he will be missed tremendously.”

Fans around the world are mourning Tito’s passing and sending their condolences to his sons. The three sons, who are part of the band 3T, will continue their father’s musical legacy through their own work, honoring his influence and impact on their lives and careers.

Tito, who was married to Dee Dee Jackson, was a strong supporter of his brother Michael Jackson’s legacy. Whenever he performed, he felt Michael’s presence and often saw his smile reflected in the faces of children.

Even after more than a decade since Michael Jackson’s passing, Tito felt his loss deeply. In August 2024, he said, “The world was not kind to Michael at all. I don’t know why. I always say if we didn’t have him, we sure would miss him. His death was such a major tragedy.”

Tito, who loved Michael dearly, added, “The world definitely missed out on a lot of goodness from him. He wasn’t just a musician or an artist; he was a loving person. He loved to give.” Tito often encouraged fans to come together and celebrate music in honor of his brother.

He firmly believed Michael was still the King of Pop, with his timeless music ensuring his legacy lasts forever. Tito was sure that Michael’s influence would continue to inspire future generations.

Like Michael, Tito, who was also an actor and producer, was devoted to his work. He planned to keep performing, saying, “I want to be like BB King – play music until I die. Like Frank Sinatra or Sammy Davis Jr. or Dean Martin. It’s fun, it’s peace of mind, it’s pleasure. I think, for an artist, music extends their lives.”

Tito always highlighted the love and positivity in his music, avoiding negative themes like profanity or disrespect. He believed music could uplift and inspire people and consistently supported family projects, reflecting these values in his work and presence.
