Chris Cuomo Shreds Ocasio-Cortez, Says She Is ‘Killing Democratic Party’

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo criticized New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and forecasted that she, along with others like her, would lead to the downfall of the Democratic Party.

Cuomo asserted that Ocasio-Cortez is undermining the party by fully committing to the impeachment of Trump over his actions regarding Iran, despite the fact that it resulted in a ceasefire.

He cautioned that Democrats are falling into the same trap they accuse MAGA supporters of, which is the acceptance of fringe extremism.

According to him, AOC consistently finds herself on the incorrect side of every “80-20” issue, whether it pertains to defunding the police, aligning with pro-Hamas sentiments, or now attempting to impeach a president for safeguarding Americans against radical Islam.

Ocasio-Cortez also endorsed Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old Socialist and New York State Assembly member, who won against Cuomo’s brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, in the New York City Mayoral race.

In his critique of Ocasio-Cortez, he referenced his brother and his father, the late former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, stating that the fringe Democrats could not compare to him.

“How do you prevent them from acquiring the nuke? Impeaching Trump is the antithesis of proposing a better solution. You are damaging your party,” the NewsNation host remarked.

“You are damaging your party. And look, I hope it turns out well for you. I hope you all break away and become whatever you truly are, because you are neither capitalists nor Democrats,” Cuomo, a former CNN host, stated.

“And, you know, you might ask, what do you know? I was raised by a genuine one. I was raised by a genuine one. Go ahead and criticize Mario Cuomo. What will be your greatest insult? That he fathered me and Andrew? Is that the best you can do? Because you are nothing compared to him. Not in terms of intelligence, not in terms of success, not in terms of lineage, not in terms of philosophy, not in terms of mission, not in terms of eloquence, not in terms of charisma, not in terms of anything, certainly not electability,” he concluded.

“You are undermining your party because you are not genuinely committed; instead, you are acting in your own interest within a bubble, relying on your limited social media presence, which is quite different from a podcaster, and you are harming your party. Democrats must urgently recognize that they are capable of more than this. Align with the 80%, not the 20%,” he stated.

Cuomo was not alone in expressing concerns regarding the Democratic Socialist’s intentions to impeach the president.

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), who supported Trump’s decisive action to target Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday, dismissed speculation that Democrats would encourage Republicans to initiate new impeachment efforts.

This improbable initiative gained some traction after Democratic leaders accused President Trump of breaching the Constitution by commencing a “war” without the necessary congressional consent.

“Certainly not [he should not be impeached],” Fetterman remarked to Fox News.

“She is aware of it. I am aware of it. We all are aware of it… this is not progressing anywhere. He has faced impeachment twice, and he remains our president, so this is not advancing, and I do not believe [discussing it is] beneficial.”

Fetterman’s remarks came in response to AOC’s recent push for impeachment, which would mark a historic third attempt, following the early Sunday strikes that involved 14 “bunker buster” bombs targeting Iranian nuclear enrichment sites.

“The President’s reckless choice to bomb Iran without authorization constitutes a serious breach of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers,” the congresswoman from the Bronx shared online shortly after the attacks were disclosed.

Fetterman also cautioned that casually using the term “impeachment” diminishes its significance.

“I believe that if you casually use that term, it actually undermines the gravity of what impeachment is truly meant for,” he commented.
