Dolly Parton Puts Las Vegas Shows on Hold Due to Health Setbacks

Dolly Parton has decided to push back her planned Las Vegas performances because she’s facing some health issues. The iconic country singer shared the update straight from her on social media, explaining that she’ll have to reschedule those shows originally set for December.

In her post, the 79-year-old star opened up a bit, saying, “I want everyone—fans and folks out there—to get this right from me: sadly, I’m going to have to delay my Las Vegas gigs. Like a lot of you might have heard, I’ve got some health stuff going on, and the docs are insisting on a couple of procedures.” She threw in a light-hearted quip about it feeling like her “100,000-mile tune-up,” but made sure to clarify it wasn’t her typical visit to the plastic surgeon.

Parton went on to explain why the timing just isn’t right. “With all that, I won’t get the chance to properly rehearse and deliver the kind of performance I envision for you guys—one that’s top-notch and what you all truly deserve,” she noted. Even though she’ll keep plugging away at her other projects from her home base in Nashville, she admitted she needs a breather to get back in prime form for the stage.

But don’t fret about her hanging up her mic anytime soon. “No need to worry about me calling it quits—the big guy upstairs hasn’t given me that signal yet,” she reassured. “I think He’s just nudging me to ease up for a spell so I can gear up for more fun times ahead with y’all. Thanks for the understanding—I love you.”

These concerts, dubbed “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” were meant to be a short stint at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, running from December 4 to 13. It would’ve been her first proper Vegas residency in over three decades, since her last one back in 1993. The shows were timed to coincide with the National Finals Rodeo, a big draw for country music fans.

Now, they’re shifted to next year: September 17, 19, 20, 23, 25, and 26, 2026. If you’ve already snagged tickets, they’ll roll over to the new dates, or you can opt for a refund. Expect an email with all the details soon.

This isn’t the first health hiccup for Parton lately. Earlier this month, she had to skip out on unveiling a new feature at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee because of a kidney stone that was giving her grief.

When the shows were first announced in June, Parton sounded thrilled about heading back to Sin City. “It’s been ages since I performed in Vegas, and I’ve always enjoyed it there,” she said at the time. “Can’t wait for the gigs at The Colosseum—hope you’re excited too. Catch you soon!”
