The heart-wrenching search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, has now stretched into its seventh week with no resolution in sight. The family recently released a fresh, emotional statement during a local Tucson news special called Bring Her Home: The Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, which aired on Saturday, March 21.
In the message, Savannah, along with her siblings Annie and Camron Guthrie and their spouses, expressed deep thanks to the Tucson community for all the love and support they’ve shown. “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbors, friends and the people of Tucson. We are all family now,” it reads.

They still hold strong belief that someone in southern Arizona has the piece of the puzzle needed to bring Nancy home—maybe even something small that hasn’t seemed important until now.
The family urged everyone to dig back into their memories, especially around January 31 (when Nancy was last seen after being dropped off at her home), the early hours of February 1, and even the late evening of January 11. “Please consult camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations or conversations that in retrospect may hold significance. No detail is too small. It may be the key,” they pleaded.

What hurts the most comes through in their raw words: “We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder.” Their only focus right now is finding her so they can finally honor her life and give her a proper resting place. They signed off with thanks for continued prayers, listing themselves as “Camron and Kristine, Annie and Tommaso, and Savannah and Michael.”

Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31 after family dropped her off at her Tucson home. When she didn’t appear for church the next day, alarm bells rang, and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department quickly launched a search. Investigators suspect she was kidnapped overnight—surveillance captured a masked individual at her door, and they believe the case was targeted, though details on the motive remain limited.
Over the weeks, the family has shared several heartfelt videos. Back on February 15, Savannah spoke directly to whoever might have her mom, saying it’s never too late to do the right thing and emphasizing belief in people’s goodness. More recently, she returned to social media briefly to mark World Down Syndrome Day, and she even visited the Today set for an emotional reunion with colleagues, sharing that she’s holding onto hope and faith.

Anyone with any information—no matter how minor—is urged to reach out to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900. The community in Tucson and beyond continues to rally, but until Nancy is found, the ache remains. The family just wants their mom home.
