Saving money is one of the most difficult things for Colombian households to achieve due to multiple factors, one of which is the difficult situation that families are going through as a result of the economic crisis.
Money is increasingly insufficient for purchases, services, obligations, and other expenses; however, some people have the means to save money in banks or even piggy banks.
That is the story of a Colombian couple who decided to save $500 at a time, depositing the coins in a 20-liter water bottle, obviously empty.
The couple, who are apparently from Bogota, uploaded the video on TikTok of when they cut the plastic bottle with a knife.

Through their social media, the couple announced that after a meticulous count, they tallied a total of eight million pesos.
“We couldn’t find any photos from when everything had already been counted. It was approximately 8 million coins of 500 and 1000 alone,” they revealed.
Internet users have been impressed by this couple’s ability to save, as they deposited coin by coin into the empty water bottle for nearly four years.
